Plasma that is not used for transfusion can be shipped to fractionators that further manufacture plasma into injectible proteins that are critical, lifesaving treatments for patients with a variety of blood and immune disorders. BGA members produce 54% of the total US volume of plasma used for manufacture. BGA manages the contracts for plasma for manufacture as a service to members.
